Robert Lennie “Bob” Easton, 77, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. He was born October 7, 1945 in Haverhill, New Hampshire, the son of Charles Henry Easton, Jr., and Doris Irene (Dumais) Easton.
Bob married Linda June McMillian in Branson, Mo., on May 23, 1968. She survives of the home.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in Vietnam as a combat medic, and spent 20 years as a United States Navy Hospital Corpsman, retiring in June, 1985. Following his retirement from the Navy, he was the Emergency Management Director for Henry County, Mo., for 25 years, receiving multiple certifications in Emergency Management. Bob was a member of the Catholic faith, meeting John Paul, II on Guam, when Bob would bring patients to be blessed when the Pope visited Guam. Bob and Linda’s two sons were also blessed. He was a lifetime member and quartermaster with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1894, Clinton; the American Red Cross and was a volunteer fireman. He enjoyed model building and collecting, house renovating, photography, volunteering and helping wherever needed, and a variety of music.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Aaron Wayne Easton, Columbia, Mo., and Devin Shaun Easton, Clinton, Mo.; two grandchildren, Zoey Marie Easton and Allie Nichole Easton; one brother, Charles H. Easton, III; two sisters, Donna (Easton) Sharkey Moyer and Linda (Easton) Vitale; sister-in-law, Sharon Kay Verburgt, many loving members of his extended family, special friend Sam Gibbons and members of the VFW, Post 1894, Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. Mr. Easton will lie in state Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Englewood Cemetery. Military services will be at the grave under the direction of the Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1894.
