The Great Junk Hunt! Junkfest Returns To Clinton On April 27

Posted

Junkfest, a vendor event which has been held twice a year since 2018, takes place again on Saturday, April 27 from 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Over 50 vendors are expected to sell their wares at the Primitive Olde Crow Wedding & Event Barn located at 32 SE Hwy AA.
“Junkfest is always a really great time for the 2,000 to 3,000 people who attend,” said Lora Anstine who sponsors Junkfest and owns the Event Barn. “Our vendors will be offering a variety of items such as handmade jewelry, handmade wood cutting boards, jarred food, antiques and primitives, boutiques, homemade food, pork rinds, direct sales and much more. The Event Barn is full of things to sell, and we encourage everyone to eat pizza with us and grab some ice cream. We are getting the Olde Crow Mercantile prepared. It was opened in September, is 6500 square feet, is stocked, and visitors can stop by at its location on the same property but near the highway at 232 Hwy 7. It has a large boutique, deli and soda fountain, and large mercantile area with things like cheeses and home decor. There is still time for vendors to sign up for a spot at Junkfest by calling 660-885-2051.”
The Anstine family has lived in Clinton since 1994 and has multiple businesses including Primitive Olde Crow & Winery, plus two new projects. Olde Crow Antique and Flea Market is about to break ground and an RV park is getting ready to open. Anstine says her family is community minded and does a lot of events that she and the same group of people have been working on together to produce since 2015. Lora Anstine is also a full-time realtor at Anstine Realty & Auction, LLC, located in Clinton and Warsaw.
A lot of vendors return to Junkfest repeatedly. One of those is Cliff Kirk, who lives in Pleasant Hill and has been setting up a vendor spot since the event first began. He is a full-time mechanic in Grand Hill and sells old tools and antiques at Junkfest. He says that his vendor business is very successful.
“Some set up inside the Event Barn and some, like me, set up on the lawn outside the Barn,” said Kirk. “It is like a yard sale. There are bathrooms, and pizza is served at the Winery. You see everything from lawn mowers and fishing gear to garden plants and flowers. The fall Junkfest is usually scheduled in September.”
Other events being held in Clinton late this month are Bricks, Books and Beyond…A Chapter 30 Years in the Making at the Henry County Library at 123 E. Green Street on April 25. There will be cake and punch. The FFA Plant Sale takes place in the FFA Greenhouse (north of the high school) from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. April 25 and 26. The Henry County Plant Swap in the Park will be at Artesian Park, 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. on April 28. For more details check out https://clintonmo/events/.
