Mildred Maxine (Ingham) Brown was born June 27, 1923 in rural Bates County, Missouri, to John M. and Goldena M. (Woirhaye) Ingham.
On December 6, 1941 she was united in marriage to Willis Glenn Brown. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. To this union was born two children, Linda Diane Brown and Glenn David Brown.
During World War II, she and Willis moved to California to work in the factories supporting the war effort, and then returned to Missouri. Maxine was a housewife, funeral home assistant, and Avon sales person, retiring in 2016 at the age of 93.
She was a longtime member of Lucas United Methodist Church and a 68-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willis, two brothers, William Richard Ingham and John Franklin Ingham, her sister, Inez Irene Ingham Schultz, and nephew, Gordon Lee Schultz.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Diane Brown of Prairie Village, Kansas; son, Glenn David Brown and wife, Janice (McElwain) Brown, of Sugar Land, Texas; granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, granddaughter, Jana (Brown) Tyler and husband, Marcus Anthony Tyler, Sr.; and their children, Marcus Anthony Tyler, Jr., and Miles Glenn Tyler all of Richmond, Texas; her brother, Herbert M. Ingham and wife Nora Jean, Grain Valley, Mo.; many nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Lucas United Methodist Church, rural Urich, Mo. Pastor Glenda Dethloff will officiate. Interment will be in the Norris Cemetery. The service may be watched the following day from Maxine’s Tribute Page at www.bradleyhadley.com. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The Order of the Eastern Star service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
