Clinton Moving On In Districts After Win Over Knob Noster

The Clinton Cardinals boys' basketball team put up a fight in the fourth quarter to be able to progress through districts and will play again on Wednesday, March 1, after beating Knob Noster, 60-50 in the opening round.
Knob Noster put up a good fight in the first-third quarter and took the lead for most of that time. They did not stand a chance against the Cardinals' hard press at the end of the game all through the fourth quarter.
Dom Jackson, Brayden Ethridge, and Xzavier Ray all scored points in the first quarter bringing the Cardinals against Knob Noster score to 11-12 at the end of the first.
It was another close matchup closing in on halftime for this game. Knob scored an additional 16 points and Clinton scored 15, bringing the halftime score of this game to 26-28.
In the third quarter, the Cardinals really started to kick it into high gear and start scoring points. Richard Brown scored nine points in the third quarter. Surpassing Dom Jackson, Emrie Neil, and Kaiden Townsend who only scored a couple in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was quite interesting as Knob Noster started to foul the Cardinals again and again. Emire Neil scored 2 baskets in the fourth, Dom Jackson had one basket and Brayden Ethridge also scored a 2 point basket. The rest of the eight-teen points scored in that quarter were from fouls that Knob Noster gave Clinton.
