The Lady Cardinal soccer team, seeded #4, traveled to Bolivar to play #5 Aurora in the first round of the Class 2 D6 tournament. The score was 1-0 at the half when Kinzlie Hager got a scrambled goal for the Lady Cards. After a long weather delay the second half found the Cards scoring three more for a 4-0 win. The second half scores came from Maddy Allard, Kinzlie and Olivia Kiely. Olivia and Kinzlie also got credit for assists. Ava Potter was in goal for the Lady Cards. This was the seventh shutout for the Cardinal defense.
The (10-13) Cards now face the #1 seed (17-6) Bolivar Liberators in the second round on Tuesday, May 18. We will report on this game asap. In other first round action Logan-R beat Monett 3-0 and Osage beat Cassville 8-0.
