Joys to celebrate: We enjoyed another beautiful weekend. It was a joy for the whole congregation to have Pastor Margie and Billie Vanslyke with us this morning. Linda Alford expressed her thanks for calls and cards during her surgery and recovery. Samantha Stocking mentioned that her Grandma Nancy George would be celebrating her birthday first birthday in Heaven next Wednesday. On the way to lunch we checked out eagle nests; and saw the majestic birds at each one; how beautiful they are, and what a blessing to be able to watch them. Special music today was ‘’Turn Your Eye’s Upon Jesus,” on C.D., an inspiring song for everyone. The month of February just started but Harvesters will be at Calhoun next Friday. Volunteers are always welcome to help pass out the food, gather at the Colt Show building at noon. Guests today were Penny Eckhoff’s grand children Cooper Eckhoff and Addilyn Goodwin.
We welcome visitors any Sunday morning for worship, come dressed as you are comfortable, bring the youngsters and be prepared to receive a blessing for your effort. We will be blessed by your presents.

Former Pastor and guest speaker, Dale Phillips blessed members and guests on Sunday with a reminder to be smart enough to know that we are not smart enough or strong enough and to remember who is. Dale began with the story of Moses and the burning bush and described how Moses learned to surrender to God. Surrendering to God allows Him to do His best through us. Sometimes we keep trying to do our best for Him and we forget to surrender so that He may do His best through us; not our best but His.

God is our stronghold, our refuge and our strength. He is always with us ready to lift and guide. You can put your life and cares in his trust because He has mighty compassion. James 3:13 – 4:3 was the scripture of choice for Rev. Nancy Gillard as she delivered the message Wise Living. We were blessed with our Hand chimes choir presenting “Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart” for the anthem.
We are collecting toothbrushes in any size or color for the Samaritan Center. Although several have been collected, there is plenty of shelf space for your contribution. We will continue collection throughout the month of February. You can check out the display in the church foyer.
Personal hygiene items for the “Girls in Africa Project” are ready for our dedicated sewers to complete. Flannel and quilted blocks along with finished pads are available in the foyer. Pictures from the preparation work day are on the bulletin board.
Tai Chi classes are held here each Monday at 10:00 and 11:00 am and Wednesday at 10:00 am. Consider joining Tai Chi. It helps strengthen your core and improve balance.
Come worship with us. You will be warmly welcomed. If in person worship is not an option please catch the broadcasts available online at our website: fpcclintonmo.net or Facebook First Presbyterian Clinton MO.

“Keep Focusing On Your Blessing”
2 Kings 2:1-3. (KJV)
In 1 Kings 19:19-21
Elijah let Elisha know that he was called by God. Many people are called by God, but won’t answer and follow God. When God calls, we must follow.
Are you qualified to feed God’s sheep? Peter thought he was until he was converted. Elisha followed Elijah because he needed to learn how to be God’s prophet.
People kept telling Elisha that Elijah would be leaving him. But each time Elijah told him to stay behind and wait, Elisha, told Elijah that he would go where Elijah went.
Elisha knew Elijah would eventually leave, but he was determined to learn as much as he could.
1 Ki 18:41. (KJV)
Elijah was focused on the blessing of rain coming long before it arrived. When things are dried up God’s people will see the abundance when no one else can.
Jacob wrestled with God all night for his blessing.(Genesis 32:26)
The woman with the issue of blood of twelve years did not give up, when Jesus was near, she believed that if she could touch the hem of his garment, she would them be made whole. She did not stop focusing on her blessing. (Matthew 9:20-21KJV)
When Elisha died, they buried a man who touched his bones and that man was revived back to life. Though Elisha was gone, that double portion he received from Elijah was still on him.
Don’t let anything pull you from your blessing. Stay focused on it as you serve God. God Bless.

Mt. Zion UMC
Pastor David’s message, “The Light of Revelation” was referenced with an Old Testament reading from Malachi 3:1-4, and a Gospel reading from Luke 2:22-40.
It is really exciting when you have a revelation…especially when it’s about something really great. Revelations about little or big things are profound for our heart and mind. But these things in daily life pale in comparison to the revelation we get when Grace descends upon our heart. This is when we change from revelation to epiphany—the manifestation of the Divine to mortals. Baptism and justifying Grace are the portals that open up all other channels to return to God.
When we are born again we are born through the baptismal waters of Grace that flows from the throne of God. Our Scriptures tell us of the powerful revelation Jesus was for all who encountered Him. In Malachi we hear of the coming messenger of God—a powerful refiner of the old Law—One who would establish a New Covenant. One who will show Jews and Gentiles alike a path to God.
Where has the Holy Spirit laid a revelation on you that will forever change your life? If you have not ever encountered this Grace or had this revelation in Christ, there is no time like the present. Ask God for this gift and He will give it to you. There is nothing that can keep you from that Grace or separate you from the love of God.
So, pray for that gift and then when you get it, do something once you feel that Grace growing in your heart. Love God with all your being and love your neighbor as yourself. Amen!

Valley Center United
We are an open and affirming church and welcome all to come and worship with us on Sunday morning!
Our ladies aid enjoyed an afternoon of fun, much laughter and delicious treats in celebration of Valentines Day. Our devotion reminded us that Valentine’s is not just for one day or just between two people, it should be a time of friendship and love for those we already know and for those we will meet. Friendship doesn’t always wait for special days. We are proud of our ladies who never turn away from needs that arise in our church or community. We sang happy birthday to our dear friend Karen Lasswell!
We thank David Maggi for bringing the wonderful message this morning while Rev. Dane is on vacation.
When Jesus came, he had a song in his heart that was full of love, grace and peace. It was a song that repealed hate. It was a song to live by and to love others by. It showed the way to share the love of God through us.
Today, we hear about terrible things that happen. So many times things get complicated and overwhelming that we often lose sight of what we should be doing; it may seem easier to quit.
But, instead of giving up, we need to listen and sing together and share with others that gift of song in our hearts that God blessed us with. That symphony of salvation that we hear is all because of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. He receives us as we are and transforms us into what we may be through his sanctifying grace. For it is God’s all-surpassing grace and forgiveness that overcomes death and the Lord’s song shall never end.
We give thanks for the gifts that he has given us and we pray that we use and share them in new ways to serve God by serving others.
