Shirley Jean (Galloway) Bilbruck

Shirley Bilbruck, 86, of Clinton, Missouri, formerly of Calhoun, Mo., died Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She was born July 22, 1937, at the family home in Green Ridge, Mo., the daughter of Shelton Benjamin Galloway and Mattie Grace (Wolkey) Galloway. On August 20, 1954, she married James Edward “Jim” Bilbruck at the Calhoun Baptist Church, and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2023.
She attended El Dorado United Methodist Church as a child. She enjoyed riding horses and had the privilege of walking across the Hendricks Hall stage at Central Missouri State College (now UCM) in Warrensburg to get her 8th grade diploma from the Johnson County School Superintendent. She completed her high school studies at Windsor High School, graduating in 1954. She worked at the Calhoun R-8 School for over 9 years as secretary to the Superintendent and Board of Education. She also worked for the Calhoun Post Office for a short time. She was a 4H leader and PTO officer when her children were young and in school. She was a Clerk IV at the Henry County Health Department for 21 years, retiring in 2002. In later years, she was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a long-time member of the Calhoun Baptist Church, serving as Secretary/Treasurer for the WMU group of the church. She and Jim went on several mission trips to Jamaica with the Clinton United Methodist Church. Shirley was patriotic and loved serving and helping others.
Survivors include 3 children, Kimberly Ann Weston, New Franklin, Mo., James Bret Bilbruck (Ann), Windsor, Mo., and Brian Scott Bilbruck (Lisa Childers), Windsor, Mo.; 8 grandchildren, Amy Weston, Molly Baker (Aaron), Emily Snapp (Joshua), Mike Bilbruck (Aimee Nicolson), Monica Blevins (William), George Bilbruck, Shelby Bilbruck (Leslie West), and Sidney Harrington (Alex); 15 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wanda Wood (Bill), Lawrence, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her husband Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, David Weston; and 9 brothers and sisters, Finis Galloway, Ruby Galloway, Forrest Galloway, Kenneth Galloway, Clyde Galloway, Lawrence Galloway, Leo Galloway, Annabele Burkhead, and Dorothy Walters.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Mark Abney officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, Mo. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
