Sherwood Senior Awards Night was held on Thursday, May 18th, 2023. Seniors were recognized for their academic achievements and congratulated on another successful scholarship year. Students worked hard both inside and outside of the classroom applying for scholarships, volunteering, job shadowing, working part time jobs and participating in clubs and athletics. These students were diligent in their pursuit of excellence.
Thank you to all of our local scholarship donors. Because of your generosity the
Sherwood senior class of 2023 received more than $371,600 in local scholarship offers alone. This does not include scholarship offers from individual universities with those scholarship offers bringing the total to more than 2.5 million dollars. With the financial support these donors provide, our seniors have more financial security as they begin this next chapter in their path toward success. We are incredibly humbled by the community support displayed by these local donors.
Sherwood graduates were also honored at the annual Decision Day that was held on Wednesday, May 17th. Military branches, college representatives and community members were there to celebrate all students. Sherwood continues to celebrate every student and the pathway that is right for them, rather they choose to join the military, enter the workforce, attend trade school or attend a traditional four year college/university. The push to support every pathway has only been increased by the RootEd initiative which helps to fund a College and Career Advisor in rural school districts, including Sherwood High School.
Congratulations to the Sherwood High School Class of 2023! We can’t wait to see what they accomplish in the future.
