Robert (Bob) A. Brock passed away Dec 15, 2023 at Clinton Healthcare. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home in Clinton, MO.
Bob was born June 21, 1937 in Cawker City, KS, the son of Frank & Bess Brock. He began his higher education degree in music at Fort Hays State College in Hays, KS. His first teaching job was in Otis, KS where he met and married his wife of 63 years, Patricia Miller; she survives. He was band director in Cimarron, KS from 1961 to 1963. He received his Masters degree in education from Wichita State University in 1964. He taught Jr. High band in Liberal, KS from 1965 to 1967. The family moved to Garden City, KS where he enjoyed teaching High School band to many students from 1967 to 1982. Following, he moved to Marion, KS, where he served as High School Principal from 1982 to 1988. He then served as Superintendent in Cuba, KS from 1988 to 1991, and in Horton, KS from 1991 to 1993. He ended his career in education service as middle school principal in Ellsworth, KS from 1993 to 2002. The family moved to Clinton, MO upon his retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years and four children, seven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Children: Layne and wife Lesa of Oro Valley, AZ; Jody Donaldson of Weatherford, TX; Craig and wife Kris of Lawrence, KS; Randy and wife Casey of Leawood, KS. Grandchildren: Gage and Colby Brock; Dru and Dusty Donaldson; Lucy, Lauren and Carter Brock. Great Granddaughter: Addy Donaldson.
He is also survived by his siblings. Sisters: Mary Ann Davis (Jerry) of O’Fallon, MO; Betty Moore of Arlington, TX; Fran Paxton (Jack) of Overland Park, KS; Jeanie Munsch of Russell, KS; Kathy Blau (Mike) of Olathe, KS; Doris Tompkins (Mark) of St. John, KS. Brothers: Gus Brock (Bernice) of Albuquerque, NM; and John Brock (Cathleen) of Tempe, AZ.
A celebration of life will be held at 10am, January 27, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, MO.
