Rita Mae Brandt, age 78, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2024 at the Loving Arms Assisted Living Center in Sedalia, Missouri.
Rita Mae (Gann) Brandt was born on October 16, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She’s the oldest daughter of Thomas J. Gann and Dorothy M. (McCallan) Gann.
Rita graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in 1964, she became a LPN in 1977 and married Roy E. Brandt on May 17th, 1964 and to this union they were blessed with four children; LaRoy and his wife Ann, Jeffery and his wife Brenda, Tommie Susan and husband Harry, and Michael Scott and wife Becky.
Rita loved her grandkids, collected cookbooks, loved to go fishing and play Bingo. She loved to crochet, loved to read, was a life member with the VFW Auxiliary post 1894 and was there monthly for the Bunco game at the post.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Thomas (Butch), Jerry, Keith, and Terry (Dink), one brother-in-law, one niece and nephew.
Survivors include her husband Roy, her four children, 7 grandchildren; Christina, SueAnn Nichole, Zachery, Jeffery, Kaycie, Amber and Brandon, and 13 great grandchildren, three sisters, Sharon Moravec, Carol Tinghino, Bobbi Boze, and her brother Larry Gann, 15 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held January 26, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. Cheryl Castilow officiating. Special music included “You Are My Sunshine, In the Garden, Just a Rose Will Do and On the Banks of Jordan.”
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
