Peggy D. Collins, age 91, of Clinton, Missouri passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Lincoln Community Care Center in Lincoln, Missouri.
Peggy was the daughter of Leonard and Tillie (Doll) Cordell, born on September 14, 1932, in Bates County near Butler, Missouri. She married Carl Lee Collins on February 8, 1951, and together they had 4 daughters, Sue, Shirley, Janice, and Carla. Her family members describe her as the rock and soul of the entire family.
Peggy expressed her love through cooking and was the queen of Canasta. She cherished each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed attending the kids’ sporting activities and never missed any until her later years. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, bingo, gambling, spending time with her family, and watching the Royals and Chiefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Tillie Cordell, her husband, Carl Collins, daughter, Sue Collins, great-grandsons, Jeremy Schley and Dillon Walrath, and sisters, Bonna Loyd and Linda Steward.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Shirley (Bruce) Wilkins, Janice Eversole, and Carla Bramell, 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Nichols, Sara Heistand, Kim Dalton, Lindy Bramell, Justin Eversole, Jonathan Eversole, and Katie Bramell, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and interment were held November 9, 2023 in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO with Rev. Brad Elmer officiating.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
