Henry County Extension Council President, Alice Huenefeldt, presented the Century Farm Sign and Certificate to Fred and Aletta Swaters of Appleton City at the August 2023 Ag Appreciation Dinner at the Benson Center. They have 120 qualifying acres. The original owner was Fred’s Grandfather P.J. Mayer, who acquired the land on Southwest 1201 Road in Montrose, in 1907. The Eric and Megan Warren family of Calhoun were unable to attend the dinner but were also recognized as a qualifying Century Farm this year.
