Mildred “Maxine” Kile of Greenwood, MO, passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 98. Maxine was the 3rd of 4 children born to Fred and Ella Lena Weide on October 6, 1924, in Elm, MO. Maxine later moved to Pittsville, MO, where she attended school in Holden, MO, graduating in 1942. While in high school, she met Dennis Kile, the love of her life. They were married on December 23, 1944.
In February of 1946, Dennis was inducted into the Army after the end of WWII and stationed at Fort Lewis, WA, where Maxine would travel later in the year on her first train ride to be with her beloved husband. Upon Dennis’ discharge from the Army in May 1947, they moved back to Lee’s Summit where Dennis worked for Missouri Public Service. In 1951, they moved to Blue Springs, MO, and started their family. In 1968, they began their move together throughout west central Missouri living in Windsor, Platte City, Grandview and finally in Clinton where Dennis and Maxine would retire in 1987. They spent 70 wonderful years together with Dennis passing away in 2014 at the age of 90.
Maxine loved her family above all else. She worked outside the home before having children, during WWII she sewed for the war. But she was a talented cook and an immaculate housekeeper. She was a doting grandmother and enjoyed receiving visits and calls from her grandkids. Maxine excelled at making lifelong friends. At 98 she still received numerous cards and letters in the mail and calls from dear friends. Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and to top it off she very recently became a great-great grandmother.
Maxine is survived in life by two sons Dwayne Kile of Wesley Chapel, FL, David & Pam Kile of Greenwood, MO and daughter-in-law Valerie Kile of Zephyrhills, FL. A sister-in-law Shirley & Harold Rogers of Blue Springs, MO and brother-in-law Glen Johnson of Knob Noster, MO. Also left to cherish her memory are 4 grandchildren (spouse); Jeremy (Sherry) Kile, Jessica (DJ) Moore, Michelle (Jason) Hamilton and Michael (Bri) Kile; eight great grandchildren, Cali (Michael) Bogan, Piper Moore, Corbin Hamilton, Cohen Hamilton, Ella Hamilton, Sienna Kile, Cameron Kile and Savannah Kile; one great-great grandson, Theodore Bogan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
