Marion Angel, age 80, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Truman Lake Manor, Lowry City, Missouri.
Marion’s Aunt Hazel organized a meeting between Marion and Geraldine Cardwell. Geraldine was in need of a ride and Marion was a Sedalia cab driver. History was made during that cab ride. Geraldine must have taken a shine to ol’ Marion because they were married on September 28,1963. They were blessed in 1964 with twin boys, Rick and Richard.
Marion was a great provider for his family. He worked as a cab driver in Sedalia. He then moved to Clinton where he worked as a supervisor at the Clearfield Cheese plant. After the closing of the Clearfield plant, he delivered LP Gas with Empire Gas. He then moved on to driving an End Dump Truck with Clinton Readi Mix in Clinton, Missouri. He retired from Clinton Readi Mix and spent his time tending to cattle on his small farm outside of Deepwater. He spent many summer months either on or under a tractor putting up hay. His incredible work ethic was passed on to his sons and grandchildren.
Marion is survived by his brother John Angel (Tammy), his sister Kathy Stone (Denver), his daughter in laws Sherry Angel and Carol Angel. His grandchildren Stephanie Neuenschwander (Jim), Joedie Delozier (Trevor), Corey Angel (Lisa). His 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, his two sons Rick and Richard, his 3 brothers Albert, David, and Keith.
Funeral services were held March 8, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. David Mills officiating. Special music included “Silver Wings, Mirror Mirror and Grandpa.” The casket bearers were Corey Angel, Steven Cardwell, Jim Neuenschwander, Roy Cardwell, Rob Angel and David Bayless.
