Marilyn Jane Barbour, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Clinton, Mo., passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo. She was born August 16, 1949 in Clinton, Mo., the daughter of Dale Pare Barbour and Mary Lula Mae (Hartle) Barbour.
Marilyn worked for many years for the Macy’s Department Store, and later worked for House of Lloyd, both in Kansas City. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and Mickey Mouse. She enjoyed shopping, collecting shoes, word search puzzles and supporting the local casinos.
She is survived by five brothers, Jim Barbour (Debbie), Independence, Mo., Bill Barbour (Patty), Killeen, Texas, Bob Barbour, Raytown, Mo., Mike Barbour (Susan), Sugar Creek, Mo., and Charlie Barbour, Kansas City, Kansas; four sisters, Ruthanne Keim (Wayne), Merriam, Ks., Margaret Hardy, Peculiar, Mo., Dorothy Willbanks (Tom), Plattsburg, Mo., and Sandra Barbour (Tom Duggan), Grain Valley, Mo.; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Jerry Barbour.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. She will lie instate from noon to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mineral Creek Cemetery, Leeton, Mo. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Childrens Mercy Hospital, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
