Strong Hitting Not Enough As CHS Falls To Pleasant Hill Chicks
CHS Softball fell 6-2 to Pleasant Hill Varsity Chicks on Tuesday despite out-hitting them nine to five. A single by Briley Wishard put CHS Softball on the board in the top of the first. Pleasant Hill Varsity Chicks captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first after Mara Shouse grounded out, and CHS Softball committed an error, each scoring one run. Pleasant Hill Varsity Chicks extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI errors by Addilyn Miller and Natalie Hamilton. Addie Tippie earned the win for Pleasant Hill Varsity Chicks. The righty allowed three hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Wishard took the loss for CHS Softball. The righty went six innings, giving up six runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking five. Wishard went 3-for-3 at the plate as the pitcher led the team with one run batted in. Kennison Crispi collected two hits for CHS Softball in four at bats. Addison Meeks led Pleasant Hill Varsity Chicks with two hits in four at bats. Hamilton led Pleasant Hill Varsity Chicks with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up five walks for the game.

CHS Holds Off Odessa Bulldogs For Victory
Despite seeing their 6-run lead whittled down by the end, CHS Softball still held off for a 7-6 victory on Thursday. Odessa Varsity Bulldogs closed the gap by scoring on a double, a fielder’s choice, a single, an error, and a single. A single by Kenadie Austin put CHS Softball on the board in the top of the first. CHS Softball added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Briley Wishard singled, scoring one run, Kennison Crispi singled, scoring one run, and Austin doubled, scoring two runs. Wishard earned the win for CHS Softball. They allowed six hits and six runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. Brenna Westerhold took the loss for Odessa Varsity Bulldogs. The starting pitcher went seven innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits, striking out six and walking one. CHS Softball tallied 11 hits in the game. Wishard, Ava Potter, Corynn Sowers, Austin, and Crispi each collected two hits for CHS Softball. Austin drove the middle of the lineup, leading CHS Softball with four runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Wishard stole two bases. CHS Softball stole four bases in the game. Briley Wishard struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led CHS Softball past St. Michael the Archangel Varsity Guardians 11-1 on Friday. Wishard gave up four hits and one run over five innings while walking none. CHS Softball scored seven runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Kenadie Austin doubled, scoring two runs, Kayla McCanles singled, scoring two runs, Ava Potter doubled, scoring two runs, and Corynn Sowers grounded out, scoring one run. An error put CHS Softball on the board in the bottom of the third. Audrey Harrison singled, which helped St. Michael the Archangel Varsity Guardians tie the game at one in the top of the fourth. Sophia Infranca took the loss for St. Michael the Archangel Varsity Guardians. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking three. Wishard and McCanles each collected two hits for CHS Softball. Sowers led CHS Softball with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. CHS Softball had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. CHS Softball Rolls Past Lafayette County
CHS Softball easily dispatched Lafayette Co on Friday, 10-1. CHS Softball got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Kayla McCanles tripled, Addison Markham singled, and Lafayette Co committed an error, each scoring one run. CHS Softball added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Kennison Crispi doubled, and Maddie Hess singled, each scoring one run. CHS Softball scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ava Potter singled, scoring two runs, Corynn Sowers singled, scoring two runs, and Crispi doubled, scoring one run. Briley Wishard drove in five runs on three hits to lead CHS Softball past Boonville Varsity Pirates 10-4 on Saturday. Wishard hit a home run to center field in the fifth scoring three, tripled in the third scoring one, and singled in the sixth scoring one. CHS Softball won thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Wishard homered to center field, scoring three runs, Kayla McCanles doubled, scoring two runs, and Addison Markham singled, scoring one run. A double by Kennison Crispi put CHS Softball on the board in the bottom of the first. CHS Softball added one run in the third after Wishard tripled. Boonville Varsity Pirates took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Alison Eichelberger singled, CHS Softball committed an error, and Aubrey Ritchie singled, each scoring one run. Wishard earned the win for CHS Softball. They allowed two hits and four runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out eight and walking five. Lillian Newham took the loss for Boonville Varsity Pirates. They went six innings, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits, striking out five and walking two.
