Kelly was born January 11, 1964, in Clinton, Missouri, to Clyde and Donna (Mayer) Briggs.
On September 16, 2013, Kelly married the love of her life, Sherri Albin, after sharing over half of their lives together.
Kelly graduated from Clinton High School in 1982. Her college career started at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her sophomore year, she transferred to William Jewell College to pursue her love of sports playing on the volleyball, basketball and softball teams.

She started her 21 year career with the Missouri Department of Social Services-Children’s Division where she worked as an investigator and then became the Adoption Specialist for Henry County. Kelly and Sherri enjoyed traveling together and were able to see lots of the United States, as well as Cancun, Belize, Honduras and St. Maarten. Airport Beach at St. Maarten was their absolute favorite. Kelly loved going on cruises and was passionate about going to art auctions. Kelly especially enjoyed visiting National Parks.
