Mrs. Janice Frances Gray, age 80 of Hager Hill, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
Born November 23, 1943 in Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Monroe Hood and Frances Tamborella Hood. In addition to her mother and father, Mrs. Gray is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Cecil Gray {March 18, 2018}.
She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Johnson, and husband Billy of Hager Hill, Kentucky; two sons, Eric Gray, and wife Shanna of Staffordsville, Kentucky and Jared Gray, and wife Michelle of Clayton, North Carolina; one brother, Bill Hood of Grand Junction, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Alyssa (Michael) Crum, Claire (David) Dorbad, Kynzie (Gentry) Walters, Kelsey (Kaleb) Murry, Blaine Gray, Maya Gray and Jayden Gray. Three great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Gray was a long time educator with the Paintsville School System and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paintsville, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held 11:00am Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church with Tyler Brumfield officiating. Graveside services were held January 13, 2024 in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO and were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
