Have I Got A Line For You!

Uncle Joe is going to Saudi Arabia to beg for oil. Not sure how this will go since he called them a pariah state. Maybe the official state dinner will include a large serving of crow. They’ll probably make him crawl out of the belly of Air Force One like China did to President Obama. What was President Biden thinking when he depleted our strategic oil reserve, hog tied domestic producers with more regulation and now is begging a monarchy with terrible environmental practices to increase production? Remember when President Trump said our relationship with Saudi Arabia was an unfortunate necessity? Many crucified him for it. But The Donald has been right about many things, including his prediction that gasoline would hit $5.00 per gallon. President Biden should stay there and write his autobiography, “From Scranton PA to Saudi Arabia With Love.” Good Lord, I better switch to something else before Mr. Murray calls me narrow minded, Mr. Switzer fires off another letter or Mr. Nelson and Mrs. Drake accuse me of being a Democrat. What a crazed world we live in.

I’d like to get out to Virginia this summer to see to old family homes. One’s down in Patrick County, Virginia and is a saltbox farmhouse. It was built before the Revolution by a great-great-great-great Grandfather. The last I knew it was still owned by a family member. Aunt Jane said when she was there years ago, his little racetrack could still be seen behind the house and there’s a sizeable family cemetery. His name was Archaeleus Hughes and he was in the Revolutionary War. They “built to last” in those days. The other house I’d like to see is up in Providence, Rhode Island. It’s called the Phillip Walker House and was built in 1724 and was family owned until the 1982 when it was sold to the Rhode Island Preservation Society. Phillip Walker came to this country from England in 1636 as a boy with his mother who was known as Widow Walker. They landed at Seekonk, now Rehoboth, Massachusetts. I’d sure like to see this old home. Bet it’s haunted, just like my Dad said the old Enterprise Building was. It would have been fascinating to see what a team of ghost hunters would have learned before it was torn down. The current Enterprise Building sits on the same spot. Dylan says when he’s there late at night “Shadow People” appear. These are the things that you sometimes see whisking by from the corner of your eye. Who knows what makes this happen. Probably best not to know.

Ran across an interesting headline yesterday. It said “The Clothes Have No Emperor.” What in the world could that mean? Have a swell day! Might as well you know.
