Have I Got A Line For You!

Memorial Day weekend was good for many of us and we were blessed with beautiful weather. Just about everybody you talked to brought it up. Sure is nice to have that one extra day. Just right!

Our government issues more orders by the day on what we can and can’t have. Gasoline cars are out and battery operated ones are in. Gas stoves ruin the planet, so electric stoves it will be. Remember when butter got a bad rap? And when some states outlawed 32 oz. soft drinks? They’re sure trying to keep us fit and trim. Not necessarily bad, but is it any of their business? Restaurants used to get shut down and the owners fined for bugs, now they want them on the menu. Better get used to the idea, because a food shortage is coming to help push this. Bugs will be all we can afford to eat anyway, after paying the electric bill to fire up the car. You betcha!

Speaking of the government, our elected officials have been hard at work on a debt ceiling deal. Janet Yellin said if it didn’t happen, we wouldn’t be able to pay our bills. How can this be justified? Our politicians have raided Social Security and can’t replace those funds. Hard times are ahead with this nonsense, not to mention thousands of new IRS agents out to get us. What is the endgame to always increasing the debt ceiling? A Ponzi scheme comes to mind. It’s amazing that we elect and pay “professionals” to do their Congressional jobs and this is the mess we find ourselves in. This is poor performance and they’d all be fired at any descent workplace. The whole situation reminds me of the saying, “When members of a democracy realize they can steal from themselves (deficit spending) the country is doomed.” Lord save us from James C. Davis… and a bunch of other stuff too.

Have a good day wherever this finds you old buddy. Meanwhile, the moon still shines down on us. I doubt the Old Man is even shaking his head at the moment. He’s seen far worse things before than our present situation.
