Emma Josephine “Jo” Moree, age 79, of Deepwater, Missouri went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
She was born on October 27, 1944, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Jo was a beloved mother and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jo had a strong faith and was an active member of the Allen Street Baptist Church in Clinton, Missouri. She also enjoyed reading scripture, puzzling, shopping, the beach and spending time with her family and friends – and watching the occasional western.
Jo married Christopher Dee Moree on May 11, 2011, and they had a loving and supportive marriage. They enjoyed motorcycle road trips and being members of the Christian Motorcycle Association where Jo served as secretary for many years.
Jo had three daughters from a previous marriage and is survived by her spouse, Christopher Moree of Deepwater, Missouri.
Jo was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Pamula Jo Golden, son-in-law James David Golden and brother Michael Thomas Baxter. She is survived by children, Donna Marie Son (David Beidel), and Vicki Sue Schrick (Robert). Grandchildren, Jamie Jo Golden (John Mehling), Jessica Dawn Golden (Blake Snyder), Derrik Mitchele Wiggins, Nicholas Giles Wiggins, and Dalton Gregory Son (Tina); great-grandchildren Jack Bennett Mehling, Joella James Mehling, Reina Rae Cagle, and Beckett Marie Snyder; sibling Russell Edward Baxter. Other family members include stepchildren Christopher Moree Jr. (Christy) and Jason Moree; step-grandchildren Zachary Beidel, Katherine Beidel, Philip Beidel, Noah Moree, Owen Moree, and Courtney Squire; step-great grandchildren Bentley Squire and Leo Squire. Life-long friends Denna Davis, Mary Thompson and Sheryl Seevers.
Funeral services were held March 25, 2024 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel,Clinton with Pastor Bob Dennis officiating. The casket bearers were Jason Moree, Noah Moree, Philip Beidel, Christopher Moree, Jr., Dalton Son and David Beidel. Special music included “Old Rugged Cross, Precious Memories, Amazing Grace and At the Cross.” Interment followed in Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
