Calhoun Community Church
Welcome to the Good News from the Calhoun Community Church. Our church family gathers at 9:30 a.m. for pre-church food and fellowship. We use this special time for visiting with one another and welcoming guests as they arrive for worship. We sign cards of encouragement for our card ministry. Tucker McNeely rang the church bell to call our church families to worship.
We pray Tom and Barbara will have a safe trip home when they come back from Texas. We extend our Christian Love as we continue to pray for our military men and women and their families, as well as others in service jobs that we depend upon daily. Everyone in our once great country should be praying for a return to normalcy. We pray for guidance as we continue to grow, here on the southeast corner of the Calhoun square.
Joys to celebrate: We were faced with a brisk, cool wind this morning. But when entering the church doors, we were Blessed with a warm atmosphere provided by caring church family members and a message of God’s Love. Our special music today was by Ms Verna who sang “Consider the Lilies”. As always, she did a wonderful job. Thank you goes out to Carol Lane, who baked cookies and Savannah McNeely, who brought some decorated cookies, which were thoroughly enjoyed. We would like to thank Tucker and Savannah for being our regular candle lighters.
Life is short and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who are travelling the dark journey with us.
Oh be swift to love, make haste to be kind.
Henri Frederic Amiel

I know God will not give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish he didn’t trust me so much.

Drakes Chapel UMC
Drake’s Chapel has to be one of the most peaceful Holy places in Henry County. The groves of mighty oaks and beautiful countryside was surely crafted by the Lord Himself. It is a place of reverence.
On this Palm Sunday God’s spirit was ever present in the songs that were sung and the palms that were waved. Remembering that fateful donkey ride that Jesus took on His journey to the cross.
Pastor Margie’s message was about the donkey colt Jesus borrowed to ride into Bethlehem. It is only in the Gospel of Mark that the Disciples talk of returning the donkey colt. Jesus had sent two Disciples to borrow the colt and told them if anyone asked why they were taking the colt to say that the Lord needed it and that they would send it back immediately. That is what they did.
What might returning the colt mean to us?
Maybe the message is pondering yet simple. What do we need to return? What do we need to let go of or release? What have we carried around that we need to give to our Savior. Maybe this Holy Week is the perfect time to renew our faith and make sure we give all our “stuff” to the One who loves us the most.
Following worship our church family and guests gathered for brunch. The food and fellowship was as great as we anticipated. Just saying that our ladies and gentlemen are noted as being very good cooks!
Our bible study ends this Wednesday. It is about how Jesus lives out God’s plan. This study “The Third Day” by Tom Berlin has been the perfect one to take us to Easter Sunday. Thanks to Pearl Combs for having us these past 6 weeks.
Easter Sunday is a day of celebration for those who proclaim “He is Risen!”
If you are looking for a church to call home, we hope you will take the short ride to Drake’s Chapel. We open our doors and hearts to everyone. You will find us 5 miles east off 52 hwy. Our worship begins at 9:00. We hope you will join us if not in person on Facebook live. From all of us at Drake’s we wish you a Blessed Easter. Our Lord and Savior Lives!

First Baptist
On Sunday, Pastor Pat Findley referred to Luke 23 in his message titled, “The Condemned Criminals Were There”. Continuing to look at Easter through the eyes of witnesses, members and guests were reminded that we all have salvation if we accept Jesus Christ. That is the purpose of the gospel, the good news. But the news is only good if it is received in time.
Whether or not we accept Jesus, He is who He is. In the end, every knee will bow, whether in worship or in fear. When Jesus was crucified, two criminals also experienced death on a cross on each side of Him. While one joined with those mocking Christ, the other began to recognize the fear of God and began to feel conviction. We are all condemned as sinners, but God’s forgiveness is available to us if we choose to welcome Jesus into our hearts. The believing criminal recognized Jesus as the Savior, even as he was nearing death and running out of time.
When you recognize Christ as Savior, the way to God’s Kingdom, you are forgiven. Jesus died with sinners because He died FOR sinners. Who do you know who still needs to see what the witnesses saw?

“Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” We opened our worship with these words in a procession of the palms on Palm Sunday.
Our Savior came bringing peace and God’s love. He calls us to live in the comfort of his love. Open the gates of your heart and rejoice in allowing Jesus to come in and change your life forever. Our handchimes choir played “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna” arranged by Lloyd Larson. Rev. Nancy Gillard delivered the message Miracle and Motive from John 11: 1 – 32.

Mt. Calvary Apostolic Pentecostal
“Disobediece to God’s Word”
Disobedience is refusal to comply. Unwilling to comply with authority, especially God’s will.
The first and most critical act of disobedience was with Adam and Eve. The devil made it sound like God was hiding something from Eve. He makes it sound good.
Disobedience will cause us to be unrighteous, as Adam was in the Old Testament. We are all born in sin, God can bring us out.
(Romans 5:15-21)
We war against flesh, spiritual warfare. The Bible tells us right from wrong.
(Ephesians 2:2-5)
We have to pull down strongholds by the power of God. We can’t do it on our own. Furthermore, we are carnal we don’t have the spiritual weapon Satan has. We need Holy Spirit in us.
(2Corinthians 10:4-5)
Jos 7:11 Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
(Josuah 7:11-13)
The Lord said nothing was to be taken, as everything was accursed. One person taking something cursed everyone.
We can’t have things around us that are accursed and expect God to be with us.
God and Satan cannot be in your body.
Achan was disobedient in taking the items. If you look at something too long, the devil will make it look irresistible, and you will go after it.
Saul was disobedient. He was directed by the Lord to destroy everything, He kept the livestock People think they can bypass God and what he tells them to do. You cannot make it to heaven if you are stubborn and disobey God.
(1Samuel 15:23)
Eph 5:6.
People will deceive you and do everything they can to pull you back in sin.
Jhn 8:43-44..
The devil will try to keep you from hearing God’s word. If you hear his word, You will listen and obey.
Php 2:-8.
Jesus could have called down angels to save him. But he did not because saving souls is more important than saving lives. That why Jesus went to cross.

Trinity Lutheran

…And then I will declare to them, I never knew you… (Matt. 7:23).
When was the last time you attended a traditional wedding in a Christian church? Can’t remember? When was the last time you attended a Christian funeral in a church building? Can’t remember? When was the last time you attended a Sunday church service? Can’t remember?
You’re not alone. On any given Sunday, most Americans, including many who claim to be believers, are everywhere but church. How can this be?
America is a secular nation, and becoming more secular every day.
Just one example: There are millions and millions of people on social media who claim to love Jesus, but have little regard for His church. These folks love to post statements like, “Christianity is not a religion. It’s a relationship.” Or, “A person doesn’t have to go to church to be a Christian.”
The fact is, a person who is a believer in Jesus will want to go to church. A Christian who doesn’t attend church is like a fish who doesn’t like water. It makes no sense.
Why wouldn’t a person who claims to be a Chrstian not attend church? After all, it’s the church where the Holy Spirit promises to work faith in all people, through the preaching of the gospel and the administration of the sacraments of Holy Baptism and The Lord’s Supper.
No, the Christian church is not the enemy. It is the Bride of Christ. Membership in a Christian church should not be scorned or avoided; it should be embraced and considered a high honor.
Come to church this Easter Sunday. There, the triune God…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…is patiently waiting for you.
Easter Divine Service 9 am. Easter Sunrise service 7 am. Easter breakfast, 7:30 am.

Urich Baptist
It was a cool Palm Sunday as the faithful gathered for worship service.
Clint Keeney rang the church bell. Mrs. Julia Klinefelter led in the congregational singing with Mrs. Dixie Collins playing piano. We rejoiced with Terry Smith on his birthday. Randy Vogt and Clint Keeney collected the offering.
Because of Pastor Sowell’s illness a video was shown describing several evolutionists and their false theories. The Bible tells the truth from the beginning of time to now. The Bible has been proven historically and archeologically accurate. The people who reject the Bible probably have not read the Bible for themselves. Challenge yourself to read the Bible and pray daily. Have a blessed week.

Valley Center United
We are an open and affirming church that welcomes all to come and worship with us Sunday mornings at 9 am.
We give thanks for this beautiful day given to us as a gift of God’s love and grace. On this Palm Sunday, we can see and feel the excitement of the glory of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. It also marks his entry into our lives and hearts.
We welcomed Sheri Suster as a new member of our church and family! We send prayers of healing and love for a church member who will have surgery this week. The congregation sang happy birthday to Rev. Dane this morning. He has been our preacher, teacher and friend for 35 years here at Valley Center!
Sometimes we may believe something, but have some reservations in trusting. Trusting is important too. Do we really trust in what we believe or do we try to convince ourselves and others that we do?
As Christians we believe in God, but sometimes we need to stop and say it out loud, “I believe in God”. How does that make us feel when we say it? To actually hear the words?
On this Holy Palm Sunday, the presence of the Lord is revealed to all of us. We can feel it in our hearts and souls. We believe in Jesus, but importantly, we trust in Jesus. By sacrificing himself on the cross, he took the punishment for all of our sins. We know that his words are true and believe in his promises.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
