Appleton City Trinity UMC
Trinity, Rockville, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Churches had messages that are part of a new sermon series entitled The Struggles: How the Bible Guides Us through the Challenges of Life. This week’s message was Intimacy. Specifically, we learned how all Christians are called to be have good relationships with one another – to love deeply – to encourage one another and support one another with our presence. So many times in this digital age we fail to develop close friendships and reject those around us. Christ, however, calls us to be present with each other in more than a superficial way, as social media encourages. We are called to be people that are face-to-face, not thumbs-to-thumbs.
The gospel and many scriptures instruct us to grow together, nurturing friendship and growing in mutual affection. We cannot hope to accomplish these task when we are buried in our smart phones and not worshiping God together, as one body. Let us grow together in relationships, cherishing that intimate connection of friendship and love. We hope that you will come and worship with us! See you soon!

Drakes Chapel UMC
There couldn’t be a more serene place to worship this fall than Drake’s Chapel United Methodist Church. We are so blessed to be nestled in the countryside surrounded by all God’s beauty. It could have been a Norman Rockwell painting this morning.
We welcomed Rev. Melissa Dodd, Conference District Superintendent from Columbia, Mo. to Drake’s this morning. She delivered a wonderful message “In The Image”. Rev. Dodd took us from Genesis 1:26-27 to a thought-provoking sermon on how God leaves His signature on each of us. Sometimes when life gets messy His signature on our hearts and souls gets smudged, but He keeps putting it back. Maybe in bolder print than before. Blessed is our Lord that never leaves us!
Rev. Melissa also gave us instruction on a simplified operating structure. One that could be helpful in conducting church business in a more efficient manner. We at Drake’s always want our most important business to be that of making Disciples for God’s Kingdom.
We are excited to welcome Hope Project next Sunday. We will be hearing inspiring stories from women who have lifted themselves out of life’s heartaches to give themselves and their children a better chance at life. Hope you will join us.
As always, we welcome you to worship with us in person or look for Pastor Margie on Facebook Live any Sunday at 9:00 a.m. We are located 5 miles East of Clinton. Look for the sign on 52 Hwy. We want to be the church you’ve been looking for. ... we promise not to disappoint!

First Baptist
On Sunday, Pastor Pat Findley delivered the 5th message of his fall sermon series, ‘Weakness is Greater than Strength’, titled “Blessed Reassurance”. In Judges 6:33-40, Gideon requests reassurance from God twice, as the enemy gathers, before taking action on God’s calling to strike down the Midianites. We, too, often need reassurance. It is possible to be Spirit-led and still struggle with doubt. Pastor Pat offered some things to ponder about ‘fleecing’, or seeking God’s will by testing Him according to our circumstances. Some examples of ‘fleecing’ include flipping a coin or asking God to help us make a certain decision by playing a specific song on the radio in a particular moment. Although God can guide us that way, we should proceed with much caution! God offers so much more! Biblically, following Pentecost, the Holy Spirit fell upon believers to empower, assure and to provide guidance. What can be better than Jesus beside us? The Holy Spirit inside us! We simply need to surrender to His will and receive the Holy Spirit!
Worship service times are 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and Sunday School is offered at 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Youth and Children’s Ministries also align with these times. Celebrate Recovery is on Tuesday evenings, beginning at 5:30 p.m., for anyone with hurts, habits and hangups. On Thursdays at 6 pm, GriefShare provides help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. First Presbyterian
Through our Heavenly Father we receive undeserved grace. He provided salvation to us through Jesus Christ. Our needs, both physical and spiritual, are provided for. We are blessed knowing we are loved and forgiven because of Jesus. Remember to praise him today and everyday. Gay Smith beautifully played our anthem “In Thee Is Joy”. The text for this week’s message was taken from Matthew 14: 13 – 21, Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand. Rev. Nancy Gillard titled the message Crumbs. This was the third sermon in the fall series titled “Love and Faith”.
The Reading and Writing Pack supplies were delivered to Tipton on October 14. Garden seeds, Best Choice labels, old eyeglasses and soft, beautiful blankets were also a part of this mission effort. The Presbyterian ladies who would like to express their appreciation for the generosity of each and every person who contributed to this project.

Mt. Calvary Apostolic Pentecostal
“A Change is Gonna Come. if You Trust God”
As time grows closer to the end life gets harder. Don’t allow yourself to be drawn in. These troubles in the world are caused by an enemy.
Psalms 94:16.
Because we are all human we need someone to talk to at times. We should encourage one another and not allow pride to prevent us from reaching out.
We should keep our focus on God rather than the chaos going on around us. He is where we want to make our heavenly home.
As long as Satan is alive on the earth he will cause people to do wicked things.
So sometimes we think we have everything under control until we come before God and he lifts us.
Let us think about those things in heaven instead of the earth. God wants us to call upon him because we can not get healed until we pray.
Psalms 73.
We don’t want to focus on some things too long. The devil doesn’t always come at you as a roaring lion. Sometimes it is subtle. There are things that you focus on too much and it will rub off on you.
Psa 94:18.
Psalms 73:16-28.
If we trust in God a change will come. He is the one who will help us. We have to take it to him, not our friends.
God Bless.

Urich Baptist
Cool air greeted us as we gathered to worship. Clint Keeney rang the church bell. Mrs. Julia Klinefelter led in the congregational singing with Mrs. Dixie Collins playing piano. We rejoiced with Rosalee Gibson on her birthday. Randy Vogt and Clint Keeney collected the offering.
We were thankful for interim Pastor Steve Sowell’s safe return from a mission trip. The scripture passage from his sermon was from John 17:1-26.
In this chapter of John, Jesus gives us instructions on prayer. Jesus prayed for himself, for His Disciples, and for all believers. Jesus is giving us the pattern for our prayer life. Please pray daily and be blessed.

Valley Center United
We are an open and affirming church and our doors are wide open for all to come and worship with us next Sunday morning at 9 am.
What a week of fun, fellowship and service at Valley Center! The Ladies Aid finished their beautiful quilt for a family that lost their home to fire. On Thursday we had many, many helpers who helped make 1300 pounds of Brats. On Saturday, we cooked and served some delicious German dishes for the many hungry folks who came for our annual Oktoberfest! We want to thank all who helped make this a huge success! We also thank those who came to enjoy the evening with us. We hope to see you next year!
We send our prayers for peace for the people of Israel and for the people of the Ukraine. We continue to send our love and prayers for those who are having health issues.
This Sunday was Homecoming Sunday. The day began with church services and the choir singing “Holy, Holy, Holy”. We had a delicious lunch together in the fellowship hall.
Our spirituality is of grace and forgiveness. Our legacy comes from the people who came before us and our church. They help us to build and sustain the footprints that we want to leave.
What will be our legacy? What will be the mark that we leave on this world and within our community? Do we live the purpose that God dreams for us? Do we serve others in need? Do we bring hope and love to those who have none?
10,000 years from now, when someone drives by this place on the brow of the hill, they will pause and know that the people that lived there, worked there, confessed there and prayed there, really knew about God. They believed in their hearts and souls, they were participating as a family in the kingdom of God and worked hard as they could to bring God’s love, his will and his amazing grace to fruition. With their doors wide open, they welcome all to come and feel the love and the amazing grace of Jesus Christ.
Every person has their own legacy to fulfill. Our actions determine what footprints we leave. Every person has an important part to play in God’s plan.
When we’ve been here for 10 000 years, bright shining in the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we first begun.
