CHS Soccer 4 Game Summary

Posted

It has been hard to catch up with the Cardinal soccer team. This is a summary. The Soccer Cardinals faced the very tough Osage Indians on Thursday, Oct. 7 and took a 6-0 loss. It was close at the half 2-0, but then the game got away from them. Of course, it did not help when the Cardinals’ senior defender, Noah Adams, got a Red Card and had to leave the game (and miss the next game). The Cards have also been fighting injuries and a challenging schedule. They faced the Warrensburg Tigers at home on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The varsity won 5-1 and the JV played to a 1-1 tie. The Cards traveled to Camdenton to face the Lakers on Wednesday, Oct. 13. It was a good match but the Cards came up one short losing 2-1. The Cards next faced Knob Noster Thursday, Oct. 14 on the road, They were down 2-1 but made it 2-2 at the break. The Cards scored two unanswered goals in the second half to win 4-2. Wally Gregory got the rare Hat Trick and Adam Walrath got a neat header off a Keaton Townsend throw in. The Cards record now stands at 9-6.
The Cardinals next play the Oak Grove Panthers on Tuesday, Oct. 19 on the road. They then play Ex. Springs on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at home. Go Cards.
