Chiefs Beat Dolphins In First Germany Game

The Chiefs dominated the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt Germany this Sunday, with a final score of 21-14, in a game considered, “a small step” in becoming the world's team. Mark Donavan said, “We think the opportunity exists today to set a foothold that we are the world’s team, that people look at the Chiefs as an international representation of the NFL.” The choice to play in Frankfurt was influenced by a recent study that shows that out of the 80 million people who live in Germany, 20 million are NFL fans.
The first half of the game was an exciting one. The Chiefs took an early lead when Patrick Mahomes threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Rashee Rice. The Chief's defense dominated the first quarter, keeping the Dolphins with 0 points. That defensive dominance continued throughout the second quarter before the Chiefs could pull off a 95-yard touchdown drive, with Mahomes hitting Jerick McKinnon from 17 yards out to make it 14-0. Overall the Chiefs made their intentions for the game clear throughout the first half.
In the second half of the game, the Dolphins showed that they were not going down without a fight. The Dolphins did score when Tua Tagovailoa threw Cedric Wilson a 31-yard touchdown making the score 21-7. The Chiefs led 21-14 before the end of the third quarter. Spectators soon realized that the Chiefs were likely to win by the 4th quarter.
After the game, the Chiefs are now 7-2 in the AFC West. Not only did Kansas City show that football can be enjoyed globally, but they also made it abundantly clear that they are in it to win it this year. The football team has not disappointed loyal fans and is continuously showing signs that they intend to continue their reign of dominance on the field for the rest of the season.
