Catching Up: Lady Cardinals Softball Coach Sydney Snyder

Posted

Message from Head Softball Coach Sydney Snyder. This summer so far we have been busy! The girls are lifting 4 times a week, coming to open fields 2-3 times a week, and playing scrimmage games against some familiar schools like Odessa, Pleasant Hill, Warrensburg, and others. We hosted our annual youth clinic in June and had a great time working with girls ranging in ages from 3rd grade to 8th grade.
We have high expectations for the upcoming season. I think we’re sitting in a good spot and are doing everything we can to prepare. We are going to continue to focus on defensive and offensive fundamentals, softball IQ, and most importantly our culture as a team. I also am striving to prioritize joy this season, because there are only so many years these girls get to play fastpitch softball. I want them to look back on their time in high school and be able to say they thoroughly enjoyed their experience and made memories that will last a lifetime.
We are going to continue to work hard this summer, and are looking forward to our first day of official practice on August 7th. On Saturday August 19th, we will host a Red and Blue Scrimmage at Optimist Park at 10am. We would love the community to come out and have an early look at the team for the 2023 season! We travel to Boonville on August 25th for our first tournament of the season. Be sure to follow us on Facebook (Clinton High School Softball) and Twitter (@CHSSoftball20) to follow along with our season.
