Naomi was an avid educator. While she had two young children she finished high school and went to college. At ASC (now NAU) she obtained both a Bachelor Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education. She was also a longtime active member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She had a great appreciation for this sorority because it promotes academic achievement, fortifies the values of leadership, encourages community involvement and cultivates bonds of sisterhood. This she believed in so strongly.

She could remember their names and could tell you about each one of them. She made a difference in so many of their lives.
Naomi was also an extraordinary cook and seamstress. Not only did she have a great knowledge of cooking and canning, but an unsurpassed passion for it. She was always trying new recipes and her delicious feasts made holidays a special time to remember. She also had many of her personal recipes published in several cookbooks. With her sewing, if she could visualize it, she could sew it. Most her wardrobe was designed and sewn by her.
Once Naomi and Harold retired they lived in the home they built on Coffman Bend at the Lake of the Ozarks in the summer and resided in Cherokee Retirement Village in Mesa, Arizona in the winters. They also enjoyed RV traveling with their many friends and family. The fun stories are too numerous to relate, but they were both loved by all that knew and traveled with them.
