Warsaw and Cole Camp played a close one through the first half on Thursday night, but the Bluebirds eventually pulled away down the stretch as they handed the Wildcats their ninth consecutive loss, 55-39.

With the Wildcats playing well, the visiting Bluebirds held a slim 13-11 lead at the end of the first and then used a 9-7 margin the second quarter for the 22-18 halftime lead.

"I thought we played as well as we have all season in the first half," Warsaw coach Matt Brownsberger said after the game. "We executed offensively, defended and rebounded very well."

The hot hand of Cole Camp's Gentry Dieckman got going in the third period where he netted 14 of his game-high 22 points to stretch the Bluebirds lead to 38-28.

The Wildcats hung throughout the final frame but never could close the game as Cole Camp snuck back to the north side of the county with a 55-39 win.

"We got sloppy with the ball in the second half and didn't execute," Brownsberger commented.

With the loss, Warsaw's record sunk to a dismal 2-11 while Cole Camp improved to 11-4.
