Warsaw Wrestling Competes Well At Brookfield

In an event added to the schedule due to the cancelation of their host tournament, Warsaw wrestlers traveled to Brookfield to compete in the 45th Annual Brookfield High School Gary Haag Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, taking on teams from Blair Oaks, Brookfield, Centralia, Gallatin, Lexington, Macon, Marceline, Palmyra, Penney, Plattsburg and Trenton.

Brookfield, Centralia and Marceline are all accounted for in the top 10 in Class 1, proving that the event was locked and loaded with high school talent.

"Our top kids were able to face opponents that they could possibly see at the state tourmament here in a few weeks," 'Cats coach Justin Wisdom said.

"Meanwhile, our younger, or more inexperienced kids were able to compete with kids at their level and gain valuable experience."

Wisdom commented, "Our kids in that B Pool wreslted great, compiling a record of 16-5 on the day while our A Pool kids were able to see where they are at with some of the top kids in the state."
