Warsaw Loses Opening Round Games At Skyline

In a game that they would like to forget about, the Ladycats (6-9) absorbed another tough 75-21 loss to the host Lady Tigers in the opening round of the Skyline Tournament last week.

In their usual style, Skyline came out with the hot hand and grabbed a quick 30-2 lead at the end of the first. A 20-7 advantage for the Lady Tigers in the second led to an insurmountable 50-9 Warsaw deficit at the half.

A 25-12 advantage for the home team led to the Ladycats ninth loss of the season.

In her return from a four game absence due to injury, Tanna Howe led Warsaw with 10 points.

In their opening round of the Skyline Tournmaent last week, the Wildcats fell to the loser's bracket after a 61-41 loss to Wheatland.

Warsaw (2-10) trailed 22-10 after the first but clawed back to trail just 28-21 at halftime.

The third quarter doomed the Wildcats when they were on the wrong end of a 22-10 margin and the Mules closed out the game in the fourth for the 61-41 final.

Logan Gemes led Warsaw with 12 points while Garrett Ferugson followed with 10.

Due to cancelations throughout the week caused by inclement weather, the loser's side of both brackets was eventually canceled.

The winner's bracket only played out and concluded on Saturday.
