Survival Adult Abuse Center Offers Critical Services for Clinton Residents

A relatively new resource of the Clinton community, the Survival Adult Abuse Center (also known as Survival House) is a charity organization located just across from Casey’s General Store on Ohio St, and right next to Blue Ribbon Bakery and Farm Bureau at 702 E. Ohio St. Suite 13. This organization operates in Warrensburg as well, recently expanding its reach to Clinton. The organization, founded 40 years ago in 1982 by citizens of Johnson County as a crisis hotline for battered women, offers a variety of critical services, including crisis hotlines for victims to discuss options, emergency shelter, referalls to other agencies, case management, crisis intervention, court advocacy, resource advocacy, and victim support groups. These resources are crucial and function to combat the devastating impacts of abuse. Another of these crucial resources is a 24 hour confidential hotline the site offers, and which can be reached at either 800-846-7597 or 660-429-2487 seven days a week. Services are available to abused men, women, and children alike.

As a charity organization, the Survival House does accept donations, and offers a volunteer program for those interested in supporting their cause with a hands-on apporach. For charity or to become a volunteer, a donation tab as well as an application to become a volunteer can be found on the organizations website.
