Due to poor weather conditions over the last several months, the opening of Artesian Park Pool has been delayed until Saturday, June 4. The indoor Aquatic Center will be open Saturday, May 28 – Friday, June 3, from 1:00 – 5:00 pm for summer swimming.
As promised with the approval of the 1/8% Parks Tax, summer swim fees are discounted by at least 50% for the next five years, starting Saturday, May 28. Daily admission for swimmers 3 years old and older is only $2.00. Additional discounts are available when purchasing tokens in bulk: $35 for 25 tokens ($1.40/ea.) and $50 for 50 tokens ($1/ea.).
Renovations to the interior of the Artesian Park Pool began in January. The project was to be completed by May 1. Unfortunately, snow, rain and colder than normal temperatures slowed the much anticipated renovation process. Installation of the Inter-Glass surface, which requires four days to cure, was completed on May 20. Park & Rec staff will begin filling the pool at noon Tuesday, May 24. The pool will be filled by the end of the day, on Friday, May 27. Regulations require that the water temperature be at least 70 degrees before swimmers are allowed in the pool. The warm temperatures forecast for next week should allow for swimming by Saturday, June 4.
The City of Clinton is excited for the public to experience the new surfaces in the main Artesian Park Pool, as well as the Kiddie Pool. Renovation of the bathhouse will begin at the conclusion of the 2022 summer swimming season. Parking lot improvements will take place after the bathhouse renovation is completed. All three phases are funded by the 1/8% Parks Tax, approved in November 2021 and ending March 31, 2027.
