Mowery Hired To Lead Cardinals Wrestling

On May 18, CHS announced Todd Mowery as the next Head Wrestling Coach. Coach Mowery is currently an assistant wrestling coach at El Dorado Springs. In the last three years, the El Do wrestling team has seen much success. Participation has increased over 500%, the boys’ team earned three conference titles, and the girls two. The boys’ team received a district runner-up title, and the team had seven state qualifiers and two state medalists in the past two years. In 2021, Mowery was one of several individuals selected by the Missouri Wrestling Association as a District Coach of the Year. Todd also has football coaching experience.
During his high school years, Todd was a three-sport athlete, participating in football, baseball, and wrestling. Todd’s senior year was capped off by being selected to play in the Ohio All-Star Football Game.
Todd attended college at Columbus State Community College in Ohio, the University of Cincinnati, and Southern New Hampshire University earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management.
Todd and his wife, Jamie (an administrative assistant with the CSD), have been married for 12 years. They have two children Braxton and Kinley.
Activities Director, Alex Johnson looks forward to the impact Coach Mowery will make in the district. Johnson said, “Todd is excited to start a NEW ERA in Clinton and I am thrilled to have him on our team. Welcome Coach Mow!”
Coach Mowery is looking forward to beginning his work with our Cardinals, “I am beyond excited to coach for Clinton athletics next year. There has been a strong foundation set within the youth organizations and I intend on building from that foundation and bringing out the absolute best of everyone involved. It will be a process and will take everyone involved buying into that process to succeed.
