Moon Shined Bright In Tipton Win Over Lincoln

The Lincoln Cardinals have not been able to play their four promising sophomores at the same time all season due to injures leftover from the football season. No excuses, it's just the way the season has gone.

On Friday night, thanks to a 12 point third quarter from Tipton's Zack Moon and a 23-9 run, the Cardinals defeated visiting Lincoln 60-45.

Lincoln's Riley Sanders, the new point guard who hasn't played the position before, didn't play. Dawson Parrott entered the game for the first time in five weeks with a cast on his hand and had five points. If he can handle the ball as in the past, he will be a welcome addition to their offensive schemes.

Lincoln trailed 27-25 at the half after a 15-15 draw after one. It was 52-36 after three.

Lincoln coach Tyler Burke commented, "We played well but Moon killed us in the third quarter."

Sophomore center Ben Eckhoff led Lincoln with 13 points. They were 10 for 17 from the line while Tipton went 8 for 10. Lincoln fell to 3-10 and Tipton moved to 9-6.
