It was a pitcher's duel through 4 innings of play last Thursday night but the Ladycats finally broke a scoreless tie in the fifth when Mady Reimund singled and scored later on a Haylee Cobb double putting them up 1-0. Cobb advanced to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice by Adison Sherrill, and after a double to deep centerfield by Tanna Howe, she came around to score on a Brylee Brewster single to give Warsaw a 3-0 win over Lone Jack in their home opener.

Sherrill, Brewster and Reimund all picked up 2 hits for the Ladycats while Cobb, Howe and Sara Miller each accounted for 1 hit apiece.

Brewster earned the win in the circle for Warsaw by going the 7.0 inning distance, surrendering just 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 13.

On Saturday, Warsaw improved to 4-1 when they rallied for 15 runs on 17 hits in a 15-4 win at Lincoln.

The Ladycats got on top in the first, 1-0, when Tanna Howe scored Haylee Cobb on a sacrifice fly to centerfield, but Lincoln bounced back in the bottom of the frame when they plated 2 runs on a Courtney Stephens triple to centerfield and Stephens later scored on a fielder's choice to make it 3-1, in favor of the home team.

The second inning was scoreless but Warsaw tied the game in the third when singles by Cobb and Adison Sherrill led off the inning. With 1 out, Brylee Brewster hammered a ball up the middle that was misplayed by the Lady Cards' second baseman and scored both runs to knot things up at 3-3.

Lincoln got back on top in the bottom of the third, 4-3 on a Ladycats' miscue but that one seemed to awake the sleeping giant.

Warsaw rallied for 5 runs in the top of the fourth after Cobb, Sherrill, Brewster and Maylee Slavens all singled, and Brewster stole home, each scoring 1 run to stretch things out at 8-4.

The Ladycats rallied for 2 more runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings and then 3 more in the seventh to nab the 15-4 win.

Cobb and Brewster both tallied 4 hits for Warsaw. Sherrill and Slavens were good for 3 apiece and Howe had 2.

Brewster went the distance in the circle. She gave up 4 runs on 4 hits while sitting down 14 with K's.

Warsaw traveled to Butler on Monday night for their Ozark Highlands Conference opener. They hosted Green Ridge on Tuesday night at home and will be back on the road on Thursday when they go to Miami.
