Ladycats Earn Sloppy Win Over Lincoln

Posted

It wasn't very pretty but when you're looking for wins, you'll take them no matter how impressive, and that's what the Ladycats (4-2) did on Monday night when they disposed of Lincoln with a 41-22 final.

Missed baskets on low percentage shots, rebounding and turnovers led to a very sluggish start for both squads, leaving both coaches, Warsaw's Matt Henderson and Lincoln's Brett Bryant searching for options from their benches. No combinations for either squad seemed to work in the first half as the Ladycats led just 10-9 at halftime; yes, 10-9 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Warsaw's backcourt of Keira Mostaffa, Tanna Howe and Sarah Miller contributed all 15 points while holding the Lady Cardinals to 6 as the home team stretched their lead to double digits at 25-15.

A 16-7 margin for the Ladycats in the fourth led them to the 41-22 victory.
