Clinton High School is proud to announce it has selected Emily Combs as the next head coach of the girl's tennis team. This fall, Coach Combs will also begin her 24th year of teaching in the Clinton School District, where she is a math teacher at Clinton Middle School.
Combs played multiple sports during her years as a student-athlete, including volleyball and basketball. She continues to be competitive by participating in local 5k races.
Combs and her husband Brad (Director of Clinton Parks and Recreation) are both graduates of Clinton High School. Together they have two children. Carley will be a senior at CHS and is a varsity cheerleader and tennis player. Quintin and his fiance, Haylee, live in Clinton. Quintin is also a Clinton High School graduate and is currently the Assistant Agronomy Manager at Farmers Elevator.
“I am excited to be coaching again and for this year’s tennis season,” said Combs. “I have become passionate about this sport. Not only is it a life-time sport but it teaches confidence as well as mental and physical toughness. I have watched these girls play the past three years and I look forward to continuing to grow strong athletes as well as developing poise on the court for off-the-court situations.”
'Emily has been working very hard to prepare for the fall season on short notice," said CHS Activities Director Kevin LaFavor. "She has coached multiple sports in the district over her tenure, and I am excited to see what she can do with our student-athletes”
