Henry County Community Outreach Presents Check To Clinton Fire Department

Posted

The Henry County Community Outreach group presented the Clinton Fire Department with $1,800, funds raised through the group’s efforts at their Olde Glory Days booth and throughout the summer weeks. Henry County Community Outreach is a group associated with the West Central Association of Realtors and comprised of volunteer Realtors within Henry County. HCCO has served Henry County over the past few years by volunteering their time through various efforts, such as delivering for Meals on Wheels, hosting donation drives for the Clinton Animal Shelter, angel tree, an annual hat & mitten drive for Henry County’s rural schools, and fundraising for the Clinton Senior Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their usual spring drive would have been for the Clinton Animal Shelter, but, following the death of Betty White, the shelter was given ample donations. So, they began speaking with the Clinton Fire Department to see if there were any needs, and they discussed how more funds could help to enhance their training, safety and prevention efforts. So, HCCO got to work with fundraising efforts at Olde Glory Days through a dual raffle of gift baskets, and through the creation of a ‘Text-2-Donate’ line, raising over $1,500, of which, HCCO was able to add to for a total fundraising donation of $1,800.
