With the start of the winter sports season, Clinton High School is excited to announce Mark Lovelace as the next Varsity Wrestling Coach.
Coach Lovelace was a stellar athlete in high school and college. During his time as a student at Adrian High School, he was a 3-time Missouri All-State Wrestler, All-State Defensive Lineman and All-State in Shot Put.
Mark attended college at William Penn University in Iowa, where he was a 4-year wrestling varsity letter winner and an NAIA National Qualifier.
Mark brings seven years of coaching experience and success to our CHS wrestlers. As a high school and college wrestling coach, he coached 18 state qualifiers, 13 Iowa state medal winners, two Iowa State Champions, and 4 NAIA All-Americans.
Coach Lovelace, who also teaches 5th grade at Clinton Intermediate School, has been married to his wife Stephanie for seven years. They have two daughters, DarlyJo (5) and Ellie (3).
Mark is excited to share his knowledge and love for the sport of wrestling with students this season, “I just love the sport of wrestling and want to give back. I'm excited to introduce a pound and grind style of wrestling.”
