Have I Got A Line For You!

Well, the President gave his first campaign speech for the 2024 election. It was all about January 6 and The Donald. Uncle Joe said January 6, 2020 at the Capitol was a “Dagger at the heart of democracy and we nearly lost the country.” This, coming from a President who’s attempting to imprison his top political opponent, destroy his family business and keep him of the ballot because he’s a “Threat to democracy.” UNBELIEVABLE! If the January 6 crowd had burned parts of downtown DC and looted the 7-11 it would have been considered a “Peaceful protest.” President Biden needs President Trump. Without him, he’d have no one else to blame for his self created disasters.

There is other news from D.C. The Secretary of Defense was hospitalized on New Year’s Day and placed in ICU. The Commander-In-Chief wasn’t informed until Thursday. Let’s be honest here, the Pentagon and State Department are the ones really running the show. President Trump was stymied at every turn. With President Biden they don’t feel the need to keep the White House in the loop. Our Defense Secretary in the hospital and his Deputy on vacation while we have two wars going on. This would never happen in any other work place.

Ran across an article about how today’s students don’t know much about history, especially of World War II. It highlighted a Montgomery County, Maryland student. Montgomery County is an upscale suburb of our Nation’s Capitol. At one time the school’s there were among the best in the country. Anyway, the writer noted that a current student got a B in history. But he was not sure when World War II ended (1945). The writer continued, “He can’t name a single general (Eisenhower, MacArthur, Marshall) or one battle, such as D-Day, Corregidor or Bataan. He didn’t know who was President when the war started.” However, take good cheer! The student knew about the Japanese-Americans who were sent to internment camps, which he called “Concentration camps.” Political correctness seems to have taken over many classrooms. The author suggested that somebody take the student to see the World War II Memorial on the National Mall. It’s not far from where he lives. He also asked, “Is this what we are getting for education spending, kids who know more about the few wrongs America has committed than they do about the many rights?” A very good question and I’m glad it was asked.
