Cathy Carter Harden's retirement reception was held May 21 here in town at Charlotte Hendrick’s home (her mother). Cathy's first teaching position was in the Clinton School District where she taught for 15 years. Later she taught in Winnetonka (North Kansas City School District) for 15 years and at the Northwest Middle School (Kansas City, Kansas) for 12 more years.
The reception was celebrated with high school and college friends and family as well as former students. Cathy's husband, Darrel Harden retired from Hallmark. Cathy plans on traveling a lot with her husband and this July they have plans to visit Alaska. Cathy and Darrel reside in Gladstone (Mo.) and Rassville (Ks.).
