The Fristoe area has had winter weather this week and it sounds like the forecast is saying it is continuing this way for the coming week!

The Fristoe area sends condolences to our friend Gary Eaton on the passing of his mother, Margarett Eaton last week. Gary and I began school in first grade in 1958 at former R-6. We attended school and graduated from high school in 1970 from Warsaw High School. Although in those days there wasn't exactly "room mothers", Margarett provided things such as treats and parties. I then worked with Margarett at the Unitog factory for many years. The community prays for Gary to have peace through this!

The community also sends sympathy to the family of Jeanne Wright of Climax Springs. Jeanne has been in the assisted living facility in Lincoln then recently Lincoln Healthcare and passed away on January 4. Jeanne worked at Edwards voting polls for many years and was always friendly and very helpful. The community sends her family the best.

I have another death to mention today, my cousin Francis Joan Roark Wheeler. Joan was born in the Roark family in the Cable Ridge community. Her dad, Virgil Roark worked as janitor for Climax Springs school for several years. Children besides Joan were oldest son, Curtis, then Margie, Bonnie, twins, Jane, Joan, Lee and Rick. The family moved to Raytown, MO when some kids were still in school. With Joan's passing, the only children still living are Joan's twin Jane and boy Lee. Joan has two children and two stepchildren. Everyone loved Joanie!

Prayers: Bud Hatch, Patti Hatch, Delores Prater, Leland Brown, Lovely Henderson, Duncan, Kathy First, Carolee Apperson, Lewis and Judy Retherford, Easter Willis, Gladys Harris, Curtis Allen and Mary Scarbrough.

Happy birthday shout out to my oldest son, Randy this week. Randy's birthday is January 10, 1974! Have a wonderful day son and love you!

Got a short note from our missionary Gracie Yoder this week saying they are winding things up in Thailand and moving onto South Africa. She and her team are very excited about making a move and she believes she will have things to tell us next week! Thanks to Gracie!

Also, former Fristoe resident Nancy Tackis and husband Daren send Happy New Year wishes from their boat. They have been to Florida visiting and headed back to the Gulf area.

Fristoe Pentecostal Lighthouse Church had several absent on Sunday due to sicknesses. The adult Sunday School is still studying from the book of Matthews and this Sunday in Chapter 13 there was studying on parables. Claude and Lighthouse Singers did the hymn Just Over In The Gloryland, DoBee did I Love Him Too Much To Fail Him Now, and Dave sang The Long Arm Of Love! Br. Smith's message was found in 11 Peter.

Thought for the week: People do not care how much you know UNTIL they know how much you care!

Hope everyone has a blessed and prosperous 2024!
