County Fair Is Fantastic, Fun & Family Tradition

"A Family Tradition Since 1948", the 74th Annual Henry County Fair is now underway at multiple locations, depending on the event!
Going back a couple of weeks, this year's fair "officially" kicked off on January 25 with the MSTPA sanctioned Truck and Tractor Pull, but a slew of other events began on Saturday, July 9 and will run through this coming Sunday, July 17.
The Baby Show kicked off this week's events this past Saturday at 9:00am at the Benson Center. It was immediately followed by judging for the Wee King/Wee Queen Contest at 11:00am, also at the Benson Center.
It was a full day on Sunday with the 4H Shooting Sports Contest held at 1:00pm at the VFW Shooting Range and YEB. At 3:00pm, it was back to the beauty with contests for Princess, Pre-Henry County and Miss Henry County.
At 6:30pm was the coronation ceremony for Miss Henry County, Pre Queen, Junior Queen, Wee Queen and Wee King.
Alyssa Robertson, daughter of Doug and Tonya Robertson of Clinton was crowned the Miss Henry County Queen. First runner-up was Hope Greufe, daughter of John Greufe of Clinton.
For Pre Queen, the nod went to Hannah Miller, daughter of Melissa Batusic of Clinton.
For Junior Queen, Addie Jones, daughter of Matt and Tabitha Jones of Clinton took the crown. She was follwed by: First runner-up, Nora Kernohan, daughter of Darby and Sarah Kernohan of Calhoun; Second runner-up, Kaitlyn Seaton, daughter of Rob and Wendee Seaton of Clinton; and Third runner-up (tie), Nevaeh Mendenhall, daughter of Larry and Carolyn Mendenhall of Clinton and Kalynn Matney, daughter of Kala Simmons of Clinton.
In the Wee Queen category, the crown went to Zaylee Anstine, daughter of Darrell and Kala Anstine of Clinton. First runner-up honors went to Avery Jones, daughter of Matt and Tabitha Jones of Clinton; Second runner-up, Robin Mendenhall, daughter of Larry and Carolyn Mendenhall of Clinton and Third runner-up, Varina Lawler, daughter of Jared and Kulani Lawler of Clinton.
For Wee King, Liam Johnson was robed as this year's Wee King. He is the son of Matt and Meagan Johnson of Clinton. First runner-up went to Benjamin Thomas Hamilton, son of Alex and Jodee Hamilton of Clinton and Second runner-up was Skyler James Harrill, son of Lindsey and Matt Harrill of Montrose.
Exhibits were accepted at the Benson Center all day on Monday, beginning at 10:00am. Exhibits included: Home Economics; Vegetables and Fruits; Flowers; Woodworking, Art and Crafts; Fine Art; Clover Kid; 4H; FFA Agriculture and Ham Exhibitor Interviews. All exhibits were open for viewing at the Benson Center beginning at 3:00pm on Tuesday.
At 6:30pm, the fair hosted the Super Teen Contest at the Pavilion and, at the same time, the Pedal Tractor Pull hosted by Missouri Farm Bureau was held at the Covered Carport.
The event kicked things up for the livestock lovers on Wednesday when the Beef Show began at 9:00am at the Pavilion. Exhibits were open for viewing once again from 3:00pm-7:00pm. At 4:00pm was the Sheep Show and Goats followed immediately afterwards. At 5:30pm, it was Show-Me Wares at the Benson Center, as well as the Cornhole Tournament hosted by 4H.
On Thursday, it's Biscuits and Gravy time from 7:00am-9:00am at the Benson Center. The Swine Show begins at 9:00am, as well as the Rabbit/Poultry Show. Once again, Exhibits will be open for viewing from 2:00pm-3:30pm. 4H Exhibits will be released from 4:00pm-6:00pm and all other Exhibits will be released from 5:00pm-6:00pm. At 5:30pm on Thursday will be the Buyer Dinner and Livestock Sale, all at the Pavilion.
After an "off" day on Friday, the Dog Show will kick the morning off on Saturday at 9:00am at the Benson Center. The Horse Show will follow at 10:00am, however, that event will be held at the Lonnie Price Memorial Arena in Calhoun. Top top off the week, there'll be a good ol' fashioned Demolition Derby on Saturday night at 6:00pm at the Arena.
The week and this year's fair events will conclude on Sunday at 2:00pm with the 4H presentation, also held at the Benson Center.
