Clinton Middle School is proud to announce it has selected Dave Batschelett as the head coach of it's Cardinals football team. Coach Batschelett will also be joining the staff at Clinton High School this fall where he will be teaching social studies.
Batschelett is a proud 1987 graduate of Clinton High School. During his high school career he was a 3-year letterman in football and wrestling. He was also an All-Conference offensive and defensive lineman and captain of the 1986 CHS conference championship team. Batschelett's love of football did not end in high school. For 10 years, he shared his knowledge and passion for the game with youth football programs where he coached students in grades 3-8. Coach Batschelett is also an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor.
“I recently moved back home after 30 years away to put myself in a position to give back to the community that raised me and gave me so many opportunities,” said Batschelett. “I’m excited to be an integral part of teaching Clinton’s student-athletes how to work hard and achieve greatness both on and off the field of play.”
Clinton Activities Director Kevin LaFavor is looking forward to Batschelett leading the CMS Cardinals.
“Coach Batschelett is coming home after a long stay in the St. Louis area," LaFavor said. "We are excited for Dave to join us and take over our middle school football program. He will do great mentoring our young student-athletes, as well as hold them accountable to keep improving day in and day out.”
Welcome home, Coach Batschelett!
