The biggest basketball summer program in the area came to Clinton on June 28-29. Twenty-two different schools came to town to play some summer ball. They call the annual event the Tri-Lakes Shootout. The ‘Shootout’ travels and is hosted by a variety of schools. Usually, they finish in Springfield or Branson. The Clinton Shootout games were played at CHS, CMS, and CIS. The games involve boys and girls at the Varsity, JV and Jr. High level. The games started at 9 a.m. and went till 7:00 p.m. both days. Don’t be fooled these are not camps or clinics or open gyms- these are very hard fought competitive games. The picture above was the Clinton varsity vs the Otterville Eagles and it went down to the wire with Clinton winning at the buzzer, 39-37, from a fast break layup by Richie Brown.
