From The Pastor's Desk

I heard someone who claimed to be a Bible scholar say there are 365 "Fear Nots" in the Bible. Sorry, no, not even close. I just counted 61. While I may have missed one or two, it is a far cry from 365.
From there, they went on to twist a scripture to fit their belief system.
Someone said Jesus wasn't born on December 25. They told it as fact and not as opinion. It is an opinion either way.
We have done such a disgrace to the Word of God, it is a joke. Leave the preaching to the preachers.
Every time, I let someone work on my car who wasn't a certified mechanic, I have regretted it.
I have heard answers on Jeopardy that were wrong.
I have been given medical advice and legal advice from friends who were wrong.
I listen to guys in their twenties talk about the greatest players of all time. Really?
Just because someone is a famous athlete or actor doesn't make them an authority on everything or anything other than sports or acting.
The old saying is, "consider the source".
Go ask your pastor instead of the guy who had a friend, who knew a guy, who had a cousin, who had a sister, who had an uncle, who knew a girl, whose father told them something. Are pastors sometimes wrong? Sure, but they have some credibility to form an educated opinion. Everyone on social media doesn't.
Here is something you won't like. II Timothy 2:15 was written from Paul to a young pastor, Timothy to encourage him to study the Word of God. First and second Timothy and Titus are directed to preachers. You should study, but that verse belongs first and foremost to pastors.
I am Johnie J. Logue, pastor of Grace Baptist Church. I've been a Christian for 45 years and have served 35 years as a pastor. I graduated from a four year Bible College and have been ordained and licensed to preach. I have an educated opinion.
What about you?

The Joy of Worship. It’s a blessing to worship the name of Jesus, and it should carry into our lives. In a Harris Happiness Survey poll of 2202 people, 18 years and older, 33% said they were happy - not why, only “if” they were happy, with men and women with higher incomes and a high school diploma being happy, men were happier than women, 71% shared their spiritual beliefs were a guiding force, those sixty-five years and older were happiest, 72% were optimistic about their future, and the 66% that are not happy, probably don’t know Jesus. If we would get to know Jesus, trust in Jesus, and put on the full armor of God, our country would be a different place, especially because our God is joyful! We serve a joyful God, yet we get stuck in our daily routing. Our worldly circumstances cannot take our joy! We do not have the vocabulary to say what Heaven is like, but it might be something like a Jesus concert every Sunday when we get to Heaven. Imagine a world where everybody is your friend! The best news we have – we have no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we first begun!
Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord,
Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens.
2 Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
3 Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet; praise Him with the harp and lyre,
4 Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; praise Him with the strings and pipe,
5 Praise Him with the clash of cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
If you don’t know Jesus, now it the time. The only thing that matters is what the Bible says. Shake off worry, self-doubt, and anxiety, and meet Jesus for the first time! This is an eternal decision, to either accept God for eternity, or deny God and be separated from Him. If we’re breathing, God is calling, but once we take our last breath, the decision is made.
Join us Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m., and Sunday and Wednesday Bible Study at 6 p.m. Watch live at 11 a.m. each Sunday on Hopewell Baptist Church Facebook page.

I pray everyone had a blessed day in church today. Our Sunday school is small but we learn about the word of the Lord. We are collecting items for OCC through the year. January items are hats, gloves and scarfs. One of our ladies brought in a bag full for us. God bless her. We had good attendance in worship today. A couple that had been gone for awhile joined us today. Great to see them back. Our association DOM Randy Festervann joined us in service today. I pray that our congregation continues to grow. YOUTH GROUP WILL MEET JANUARY 28 AT 6:30 PM AT CHURCH. ALL YOUTH ARE WELCOME!!!
Pastor Jesse’s message was from Acts 20 and Ecclesiastes3. There are seasons in our life. A measure of a man is how he lives his life. We should serve God everyday, 365 days of the year. If you are truly a Christian find out where to serve God. God will make things happen in His time.
We have to serve ourselves to get to heaven. Don’t worry about worldly things because Jesus is in control. In 2 Timothy chapter 4 it says “ be prepared in and out of season to correct, rebuke and encourage” for doing God’s work. You can serve or not serve God it is your choice. Be rich in love and show people you are a Christian. Do you claim Jesus on Sunday and be different during the week? Pick a thing and do it for 40 days. It will help your walk with Jesus. How many people are depending on you to be a Christian? How do you get them to church?
GOD BLESS YOU AND MAY GOD KEEP YOU UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. MAY THE ROAD RISE UP TO MEET YOU. MAY THE WIND ALWAYS BE AT YOUR BACK. MAY THE SUN SHINE WARM UPON YOUR FACE, AND THE RAIN FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN, MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. An Irish blessing.

This Sunday 1/28/24 Rev. Don will give the service he had planed to give 1/14/24, "Gospel Miracles", which was cancelled due to weather. This Sunday the weather will be much better. Did you ever think you would be so glad to have upper 30's or lower 40's temperature? We will look at what is a miracle and are they happening today? This will be a year long process and Rev. Don would love to have your input as to a miracle you would like to know more about. We will search for their deeper meaning and what they mean for us today. "If it is true it can be demonstrated." Please join us at 11 am and stay afterword for refreshments and fellowship. Dress is casual and all are welcome. We are located 8 miles south of Warsaw on highway 65. Our physical address is 34948 Hwy 65 South. Follow us on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you.
