Clinton Church of the Nazarene
Donna Edwards led the service. She spoke of the pleasure of serving our Lord and Savior and gave many illustrations of many ways we can serve.
Onneita Johnson led the song service. It was good to sing the old hymns that mean so much to us.
We pray for our loved ones who are ill, praying that they will return to good health soon.
Proverbs is a wonderful collection of prayers for health, loneliness, money problems and most of all, love as Jesus would have us to love each other.
We thank each person for coming to worship here today. We pray that you receive a rich blessing by being here and that you will come again. See you in church?

In honor of Disaster Relief Sunday, Pastor Pat Findley described how Christians can bring help, hope and healing. This message began Pastor Pat’s series of ‘Ears to Hear’, which he will continue in the coming weeks. He explained three important points in bringing help, hope, and healing. First, we must recognize that people all around us are
calling out for help, hope, and healing. While none of us can do it all, it is fair to say that most of us can do something. Second, when we help people in need, we reflect the heart of Jesus.
Finally, as we help, we want to see people find ultimate hope and healing in Christ. We should remember that, while we can’t do everything, most of us can do something.

Christ is the sure and steadfast anchor for out soul. He is able to save anyone who draws near. Through Christ we have assurance of heaven and eternal life. Our salvation and deliverance rests entirely on Him. He is our refuge. Jeremiah 5: 20 - 29 was the scripture referenced by Dr. David Maggi in his message One Blood. We appreciate Dr. Maggi being with us this week in the absence of Rev. Gillard. Gay Smith beautifully played the anthem “There Is a Fountain” arranged by Mark Hayes.
The Presbyterian Women met at the home of Martie Zumbrunnen for their annual brunch. Good food and pleasant conversation was enjoyed by all who attended. This will be the last meeting for the summer months. The ladies will resume in September.
Our collection of donated toothbrushes for the Samaritan Center is continuing throughout the month of June. Everyone needs a toothbrush. It may seem like a simple thing but try going without one! Let’s join together on this
mission project which helps families in the Henry County area. Donations may be placed on the shelves in the foyer.
The “Children in Africa” project continues with the addition of new dresses weekly. Our talented sewers are putting their skills to use. Be sure to stop by the display in the foyer. You will be amazed.
Tai Chi classes continue meeting each Monday at 10:00 and 11:00 am and Wednesday at 10:00 am. Tai Chi helps strengthen your core and improve balance. Consider joining.
Come worship with us. You will find a friendly group of people greeting you. If in person worship is not an option watch the broadcasts available online at our website: fpcclintonmo.net or Facebook First Presbyterian Clinton MO. Stay updated on the happenings at First Presbyterian by visiting our website. There you will find our monthly newsletter, pictures and other interesting items about the church.

Mt. Calvary Apostolic Pentecostal
“There’s Victory in the Name of Jesus”
Jdg 6:6-10. (KJV)
Israel had troubles because they were disobedient to God.
It says in Jdg 6:11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
Jdg 6:12. (KJV)
When we give Jesus a chance, we get more than we expected. The angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon. When the word speaks of the angel of the Lord, it is God in a prepared body that a human can converse with.
Jdg 6:13-14.
Gideon was asking the Lord to deliver Israel from the Midianites and God was letting Gideon know that he would be the chosen to deliver them.
We will make excuses when God calls us to do a service. We must always remember that we have victory in the name of Jesus if we would look past our situation and understand God has our back.
Gideon needed confirmation that the Lord was on his side. He prepared meat and bread, bringing it out to the angel of the Lord.
Jdg 6:20-21. (KJV)
Gideon was concerned that he would not live because he saw the face of the angel of the Lord. God reassured him he would live. (Judges 6:22-23)
Gideon was also directed by God to destroy Baal, which he did. When you want God to act on your behalf, you have to get rid of the devil’s altar.
After God picked the men he wanted Gideon with, the total was 300 men. Twenty-two thousand went home initially, and another ten thousand. God did not want Israel bragging about gaining victory by their hands. (Judges 7:1-7)
Dividing his men into three groups of one hundred men, Gideon gained the victory.
No matter how many enemies we face, we need to stand firm in the Lord. It is God fighting the battle, and he will give us the victory.
God Bless.

Give us the strength, courage, vision and faith, that we might always choose that which is good, right and just in your eyes. We are all God’s children.
We are proud of Emily Neueschwander who will be a counselor at church camp this week for the ages of first through third grade. Thank you Emily for being a great young leader!
We send prayers of love and peace to the family of Karen Chapman Arnote. She was a wonderful daughter, mother, sister and friend and will be forever missed. We send our love to the family of Hayley Hallman as they mourn her loss. She will be sorely missed by all. We continue to pray for those who are recovering from illness and surgery. We pray for this nation and its leaders.
Today and everyday our church windows and doors are wide open. We can hear the church bells ringing and the birds singing. We can see God’s beauty everywhere!
As we open our doors, it is an invitation for all to come in and sends a clear message of welcome and acceptance.
God inspires us to be witnesses to the world and share the message of his gift of love, grace and salvation. And when our doors are open, our faith grows and we become the messengers that God expects us to be.
“Because of your promise Lord, I believe.”
