Clinton Christian Academy was excited to host its first ever honor society event. This newly created organization, named Patriot Honor Society, inducted new members on Friday, October 13, 2023 in the school’s gymnasium. The primary objective and purpose of Clinton Christian Academy is to train students in the knowledge of God, the Christian way of life, love of country, and to give students an excellent academic education. To this end, students inducted into the Patriot Honor Society are chosen and obligated by their academic standing to be honorable, responsible, and generous to others. Membership in the Patriot Honor Society is earned by the demonstration of the four required qualities; Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Christ-Like Character. The group included, Junior-Audrey Foster, Junior-Clara Hyke, Junior-Kennedy Vaughn, Senior-Jared Wisniewski, Senior- Marlee Cronhardt, Senior- Priscilla Lanning, Senior- Kade Manning, and Senior- Taylor Bateman. The Patriot Honor Society officers include Reporter- Audrey Foster; Treasurer- Jared Wisniewski; Secretary- Kennedy Vaughn; Vice-President- Clara Hyke; and President- Marlee Cronhardt. The opening speaker and prayer was led by Upper School Principal, Becky Hyke and Lead Administrator, Robin Ritchie. Clinton Christian Academy Board Member, Jeff Lowe, offered a wonderful, inspirational message for the new inductees, which spoke to “being the light.” Patriot Honor Society Advisor, Audra Schumpert, explained that Friday night’s ceremony was “not just about participating, but about excelling!” Each member lit a candle symbolic of receiving the truth that has been passed onto them. “The candle represents a tradition of honor, a flame that passes along the qualities of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Christ-Like Character” stated Mrs. Schumpert. The inductees were challenged to always pursue these traits. Mrs. Hyke closed the ceremony with a verse from Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Patriot Honor Society members will be putting this verse into action by hosting a Veteran’s Day Breakfast at Clinton Christian Academy on Thursday, November, 9 2023 7:45-8:45 am. All veterans within the community are encouraged to attend. The evening ended in fellowship and pictures with cake and punch.
