Entering the Belton Tournament this past week, Cardinals Ladies Tennis looked all aces as they continued to build upon their strong showing this season.
Tourney play for the Lady Cards kicked off with a matchup against hometown Belton, which saw the visiting Cardinals bounce the Pirates 2-1 in opening action.
The Lady Cards, building off the early win, dispatched WIlliam-Chrisman next, running it back with another 2-1 victory.
Their next matchup, against Raymore-Peculiar would see the Lady Cards drop their first match in tournament play despite a strong effort, to the tune of 0-3.
While Cardinals Tennis fell short in this one, the Lady Cards would push through the adversity to a bounce-back victory in the final match of tournament play, defeating Truman by a 2-1 margin.
The strong tournament saw the Cardinals own Kennedy Cook win 3rd place in Singles Play, Anna Hilty win 2nd place in Singles Play, and Carley Combs and Isabella Griffey take 3rd place in Doubles. The Lady Cards as a whole took 2nd place in the tournament.
