Cardinals Lose Regular Season Home Finale To Warrensburg On Senior Night

Posted

Cardinals Football faced off against the visiting Warrensburg Tigers this past week for their last matchup in front of the hometown crowd for the season.
Coming off a loss to Harrisonville, the Cardinals entered the matchup looking to add a final home win to their resumes for the year, which would have given the team their second win in just three weeks after beginning the season 0-5.
The Cardinals, despite strong effort from whistle to whistle, fell short of that goal, losing to the Tigers, 65-7.
Even with the loss, however, the team still had plenty of reason to celebrate, as teammates, coaches and the hometown crowd honored each of the Cardinals senior players, each of whom have shown their resilience and leadership all year as they have helped to steer their team through a season filled with adversity. Having put in so much time, sweat and care into their journeys as student-athletes, and representing their school and families with pride and class. It’s not easy when anything ends, and this years seniors, who just wrapped up their final game on home turf for their Cardinals football careers, are surely filled with plenty of emotions and memories of their time under the lights.
One emotion they should hopefully be filled with is pride, because regardless of what the scoreboard said this past Friday night, these seniors left it all out there between the whistles and the lines. Thank you, seniors, from all of the Clinton faithful!
Cardinals football seniors Include: Emrie Neal, Brent Gray, Monte Bullock, Andrew Himes, Gabriel Simmons, Phillip Harrison, Hayden McGuire, Samuel Taylor.
